Customer Challenge

A long-term domestic client faced visible micro-bubbles on the surface of high-end nitrile gloves, leading to a significant drop in yield. The client reached out to us, and after understanding the situation, our General Manager Li dispatched an engineer to the site.

On-Site Analysis

The engineer first inspected the defective gloves and observed uniformly distributed surface bubbles, primarily occurring during the film-coagulation stage. This suggested that bubble formation was related to the interaction between the raw material and the coagulant.

Subsequently, the team verified that the production line parameters were within baseline standards, confirmed that the conveyor chain operated without abnormal vibrations, and checked whether excessive oven temperature caused premature surface drying—another potential cause of bubbling.

Root Cause & Actions

Through systematic investigation, the issue was identified as a mismatch between the air release properties of the raw material and the coagulant dipping process. The following adjustments were made:

  • Modified Raw Material Viscosity

In collaboration with the client’s process engineers, we incorporated a specialized defoaming agent and raised the mixing temperature to reduce overall viscosity—facilitating the escape of entrapped air.

  • Precise Control of the Gelation Process

We fine-tuned the infrared heating settings in the pre-gel section to allow a gentler and prolonged “leveling” phase before final setting. This provided sufficient time for residual micro-bubbles to dissipate.

  • Optimized Coagulant Tank

The dipping angle and speed of the formers were adjusted to minimize air entrapment during immersion. Additionally, a simple baffle was recommended inside the coagulant tank to reduce turbulence and bubble inclusion.

After implementation, our engineer conducted 24 hours of continuous monitoring. The glove yield rate stabilized above 98.5%, up from the previous 85%, effectively resolving the bubble issue and addressing the client’s core concern.
