Difference Between Nitrile and Vinyl gloves

Raw materials

Nitrile gloves are made of nitrile rubber (NBR), a synthetic compound called acrylonitrile and butadiene. Disposable nitrile gloves were originally developed to address the issue of natural rubber gloves causing allergic reactions to human skin and are an ideal alternative to disposable latex gloves.

Vinyl gloves are made of PVC resin, plasticizers, stabilizers, and lubricants. They have relatively low elasticity, are light, thin, and soft in texture, and can closely fit the contour of the hand, just like a second layer of skin. This not only keeps the hands flexible and free but also reduces the feeling of stuffiness and heat when worn for a long time, thereby improving work efficiency. For instance, in electronic manufacturing where fine hand movements are highly required, PVC gloves will not become a burden on operations.

The Uses of Nitrile Gloves

Nitrile gloves have a wide range of applications in production and daily life, and are often used in various industrial manufacturing, household cleaning, and medical care, etc. For example, physical examinations, hair salons, laboratory work, food handling, and chemical handling etc.

Advantages of Nitrile Gloves

Chemical resistance, strong resistance to oil, fat, and petroleum-based products, excellent puncture resistance, high-level touch sensitivity, durable, flexible, light, thin, and breathable material, easy to use, no latex, no protein, no allergy, long shelf life.

Disadvantages of Nitrile Gloves

The production cost of nitrile gloves is higher than that of vinyl glove and cannot be biologically explained.

Characteristics of Vinyl Gloves

It contains no allergens, has no powder, generates low dust, has a low ion content, and is free of plasticizers, esters, silicone oil, and other components. It is resistant to weak acids and weak alkalis, but its overall resistance to chemical agents is relatively weak. It has a certain degree of flexibility and touch, but its elasticity is relatively small.

In terms of user experience, the gloves are relatively light and thin, comfortable to wear, and the hands can move freely. It has anti-static performance, is easy to wear, and does not stick to the skin.

The above is the difference between nitrile and vinyl gloves. Consumers need to choose the appropriate gloves according to the usage scenarios. For any disposable gloves or the glove manufacturing process, please contact us.
